Ratchet tools
A ratchet is recognisable by the clicking sound you hear when tightening nuts. Ratchets work with a ratcheting mechanism, which means the ratchet can only move in one direction. The other direction is, as it were, loose. The advantage is that you don't have to constantly lift the wrench to reposition it like you would with a normal wrench, but can quickly tighten the nut. This is especially useful if you need to tighten something in a confined space and have little room to constantly lift the wrench.
Ratchet tools
At Winparts you will find different types of ratchets in our range. So you will always find a suitable ratchet.
With a socket wrench, you have two pieces of equipment in one. On one side is a ring with a ratchet mechanism and on the other side is an open-ended spanner. This gives you both functions in one.
A torque wrench is used to tighten nuts accurately with exactly the right amount of force. You set the torque on the torque wrench. You can then tighten the nuts with the correct force. This prevents you from overtightening or under-tightening the material. You will find the torque for each part in the assembly instructions.
A ratchet extension is ideal for those hard-to-reach places. The piece consists of three parts. A ratchet that can turn one way, a long neck so you can reach a difficult spot and a socket for the different sizes of nuts.
The ratchet wrench is the classic ratchet. The ratchet works with the mechanism that allows you to easily tighten or loosen nuts. The wrench comes in different sizes. The size you need depends on the socket you are using, these correspond to each other.
