Knocksensor
The knock sensor is mounted on the engine block and measures the knocking or pinging of the engine. Engine knock or pinging occurs when the
fuel in the cylinders ignites too early. This can be caused by a leak in the
intake, resulting in too much oxygen, fuel with an incorrect octane rating, or excessive pressure in the combustion chamber.
Engine knock or pinging causes irregular combustion, leading to power loss and high fuel consumption. It also causes vibrations
and noise from the car bonnet. When the knock sensor detects that the engine is running irregularly, it sends a signal to the ECU, which illuminates the engine warning light
and limits the engine speed to prevent damage.
