Types of car striping

The autostripe is self-adhesive tape in the shape of a stripe. This can be applied over the hood, roof and rear of the car, but can also be applied to the sills, doors or other areas.

Viperstripes are two broad stripes that can be extended over the hood, the top and the back of the car. The Viper Stripes are the most famous type of striping and are named after the Dodge Viper. The stripes are universal and suitable a universal single stripe which you can place on the car as desired. The striping is self-adhesive and available in different colours.

The racing stripes are stripes which give the car a real racing look. Racing stripes consist of a thicker center stripe with two thinner stripes on the outside. This striping can be applied over the hood, top and rear. When purchasing, pay close attention to the dimensions of the stripes and whether they match your car model.

Apply car striping

How the striping should be applied depends on the location and type of stripes that you are going to stick on the car. For example, applying viper striping is often more difficult because these are broad stripes, which are applied over the curvature of the car. You can apply the stickers using the following steps:

1. Determine where the stickers should go and make sure that these parts of the car paint are well degreased with a degreaser.

2. Mark with painter's tape where the stickers should go. The painter's tape can be easily removed afterwards.

3. When placing the striping, use a pass to wipe out the air bubbles under the stickers.

4. Have the stickers been applied as desired? Then the foil can be removed.

5. Make sure to let the decals dry thoroughly after installing.
